Kids are safe in hot tubs with parental planning. As with anything around the home, a hot tub needs to be maintained properly to ensure contaminants don't build up. It also needs to have a gate around it if you have small children. (I think some states make it mandatory that a fence be installed around the perimeter of a hot tub.) We're considering several
hot tubs kansas city companies, and we'll stress all of these safety requirements to them when we meet with them.

I did some searching on the internet and came across a couple of articles that may be helpful to anyone reading this post:
• http://www.keepkidshealthy.com…..afety.html
There are many more out there, but they all say kind of the same thing. Thanks!

Just Google "children and hot tubs" and you will find tons of info or ask your pediatrician but the bottom line is that children cannot dissipate the heat as well as adults and their internal body temperature can rise quickly to dangerous or even fatal levels.
Depending on their age and the temperature you keep your tub their exposure to the hot water should be no more than 5 to 20 minutes.

I wrote another post about hot tub chemistry, but another forum member brought to light an important safety question, "How old should a child be, before entering the hot tub?" MY kids are younger (not babies or anything), but I let them get in the hot tub all of the time. Aside from drowning, what are the risks involved with children using the hot tub. I know I am not the only one who lets their kids get in the tub and I haven't been too worried about it until now. I would never let them in unattended or anything, but are there other risks?
Any help is appreciated.
