Gosh Camille,

while i'm sure that you've found a hot tub by now and I hope you are enjoying it, you did ask some great questions that I'd love to try and answer.

About lounges in hot tubs.  Did you actually purchased the Caldera? I'm wondering if you are enjoying your lounger.   Loungers can vary by their design.  Some are more comfortable than others.  Some are better suited for taller users.  My thoughts about loungers is that you are so bouyant in a hot tub that you sometimes have a hard time staying on one!

I'm sure that by now you've also found the hot tub maintenance is really not that intensive.  Today's hot tubs often come with ozone generators which help enormously with water maintenance.  You still need a little back up chlorine or bromine but not nearly as much as you would without ozone.   The filters are easy to clean too, aren't they?  Just pull them out and power blast 'em with a hose nozzle.

I don't have any direct experience with the Jet packs on the Bullfrog spas.. I've seen them at show's and always thought they were kind of cool but  secretely wondered if maybe there might be problems with leaks.

I hope you are enjoying whatever you purchased and wish you luck with it!

My husband and I are in the market for a hottub and while searching for some ideas I came across this forum.  I thought I'd ask for some insight as to what I should be looking for in a hottub BEFORE I buy one.  I want to be sure I get a good one and since I know my husband won't ask for help, here I am…

We have been looking at a few different brands and are kind of leaning towards the Caldera Spas Niagara.  I don't really care for lounges, but this spas has a lot of cool features.  What do you think of Caldera spas?  Do you like lounges?  We have also looked at Bullfrog, Cal Spa and Hot Springs.  I just keep going back to the Niagara.  What about warranty and maintenance?  I will be doing a lot of it myself and need it to be pretty simple.  Are the jetpacks in Bullfrog hard to install?  Do you really change them very often?  What are the drawbacks to them?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!  We want to purchase soon, since summer is almost over Cry and since we have a pretty cold winter, we want to be able to relax in a nice warm hottub while it's snowing!!!!Laugh

These smileys are kind of fun!!
